Title: Policy Intern
Location: Washington, DC
Pay rate: $20/hr
The Formosan Association for Public Affairs (FAPA) is a grassroots advocacy organization with a mission to advance U.S.-Taiwan relations.
FAPA is seeking a part-time Policy Intern who can provide dedicated support for research on U.S.-Taiwan relations from March to August 2025 (6 months). The intern will work closely with the policy team and gain a deeper understanding of the issues related to Taiwan and the U.S. Congress. They will hone research, writing and communication skills, and gain valuable experience in Congressional advocacy.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Conducting policy research on a variety of topics related to U.S.-Taiwan relations.
- Tracking daily news and Congressional activities.
- Assisting with the contents for newsletters and publications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be current undergraduate, graduate students, or recent graduates.
- Must have obtained or must be pursuing a degree in international relations, political science, public policy or a related field, preferably with a focus on U.S.-Taiwan policy or Asia studies.
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
- A strong interest in U.S.-Taiwan relations, and U.S. Congressional advocacy.
- Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
