2026 Policy Internship

Position Details 

  • Title: Policy Intern 
  • Position Type: Part-time (20 hours/week), in-person 
  • Duration: September 2026 – February 2027 
  • Location: Washington, DC 
  • Pay rate: $20/hour  

 
The Formosan Association for Public Affairs (FAPA) is a grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening U.S.–Taiwan relations. FAPA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Policy Intern who can provide dedicated support for research on U.S.-Taiwan relations. The intern will work closely with the policy team and gain a deeper understanding of the issues related to Taiwan and the U.S. Congress. They will hone research, writing, and communication skills, and gain valuable experience in Congressional advocacy.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Conducting policy research on a variety of topics related to U.S.-Taiwan relations.
  • Tracking daily news and Congressional activities.
  • Assisting with the contents for newsletters and publications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

  • Must be current undergraduate, graduate students, or recent graduates.
  • Must have obtained or must be pursuing a degree in international relations, political science, public policy or a related field, preferably with a focus on U.S.-Taiwan policy or Asia studies.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • A strong interest in U.S.-Taiwan relations, and U.S. Congressional advocacy.
  • Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
