U.S.-Taiwan Diplomatic Relations (H.Con.Res.10)

  • Post category:Petition

Support H.Con.Res.10, a resolution that asks the U.S. to resume normal diplomatic relations with Taiwan!

Bill Info

What does this bill do?

  • Resume normal diplomatic relations with Taiwan
  • Call for an end to the “antiquated” U.S. “One China Policy”
  • Negotiate a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) with Taiwan
  • Support Taiwan’s membership in international organizations

Why is it important?

The United States maintains diplomatic relations with almost every country in the world (even with Syria and Communist China), except for North Korea, Iran, Bhutan, and Taiwan. We believe that, as a full-fledged democratic and free country that respects human rights, Taiwan should not belong on that short list of nations having no diplomatic ties with the U.S.

The resolution also supports a U.S.-Taiwan FTA and Taiwan’s international participation.
