Position Overview
The Communication and Event Specialist will devise and execute FAPA events and campaigns, both physical and digital. Daily duties include the successful build and launch of email, website, social, and paid media. The ideal candidate has experience in building, deploying, and executing multi-channel marketing strategies. Solid experience in email campaigns and event planning is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the day-to-day management of email, website, and social media including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Drive and make recommendations on engaging targeted audiences with both digital and physical channels. Provide quarterly performance reports on the marketing results when necessary
- Format the Organization’s various publications including creating the monthly digital newsletter FAPA Update, quarterly publication FAPA News, and other publications as needed
- Upload the Organization’s publications to the Website
- Improve the web experiences from the appearance to the user experience
- Collaborates with the Policy Team on constructing & implementing FAPA initiatives, including but not limited to petition campaigns, and physical & digital events
- Work with the Operations Manager on composing fundraising strategies to maximize the annual fundraising results
- Host monthly & quarterly events to engage FAPA members and the general public
- Assist in the daily office operations when necessary
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in operations with a heavy focus on event planning as well as stakeholder management
- 1+ experience in email and social media campaigning
- Outstanding organizational & communication skills
- Comfortable with working in and communicating with people from diverse cultures
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
- Excellent English proficiency is a must. Mandarin proficiency will be considered an advantage
- Bachelor’s Degree in communication, business, administration, international politics, public relations, and/or relevant field of study
- Expertise in managing and prioritizing multiple projects and has great attention to details
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track to design and execute workshops, live events, webinars, and media
- 1+ Experience building and formatting pages and templates with WordPress. The experience in GiveWP and Formidable will be a plus
- Basic understanding of HTML, be able to create an email in the HTML format
- 1+ Experience in Salsa Engage or other digital engagement software
- Experience with both B2B and B2C in the non-profit sector
